Easter Holidays in Tuscany on an Organic Farm

Easter holidays in Tuscany and spring breaks on our organic farm

When spring arrives, the Tiber Valley wakes up. The fields turn green, the olive trees are pruned for the new season and Lake Montedoglio shines under the first warm days of the year.
Spending your Easter holidays in Tuscany at Le Ceregne Bio, or a spring school break in May or June, means living the real countryside. Ours is a working organic farm, run by our family since 1901, where children meet the animals and parents can finally slow down.

Easter holidays in Tuscany on a family farm

Easter holidays in Tuscany

Easter comes just as the countryside comes back to life. The olive trees are being pruned, the vegetable garden is sown and the animals return to pasture. Meanwhile, the woods fill with fresh green leaves. Mornings are still cool, but the days grow longer and the sun warms the meadows around the lake.

Spending the Easter holidays in Tuscany on our farm means enjoying these days at a gentle pace, far from crowded cities. Each morning starts with breakfast made with our homemade organic produce. Then come walks through olive groves and woods. In the evening, finally, our tasting dinners bring everyone around the table to share local wines and seasonal Tuscan country cooking.

Easter Monday, called Pasquetta in Italy, is traditionally a day spent outdoors. Italians celebrate it with a picnic, a walk or a trip to the countryside. You can do the same: follow the farm trails, have lunch on the meadows overlooking the lake or explore the medieval villages of Anghiari and Sansepolcro.

Spring school holidays in May

Easter holidays in Tuscany

In late April and early May, many European families enjoy a spring school break. At this time, the Valtiberina is in full bloom. Meadows fill with colour, fruit trees blossom and the days invite you to stay outdoors from morning to evening.

It’s the ideal season for walks on the estate trails, bike rides along the lake or visits to the villages of the valley. Anghiari is famous for its medieval walls, while Sansepolcro is the hometown of the Renaissance painter Piero della Francesca. Nearby, Caprese Michelangelo is the birthplace of Michelangelo himself.
On warmer days, in addition, the swimming pool with lake views is already open for a first swim or an afternoon in the sun.

Children, above all, will love the farm. They can meet the animals, try cheese making, take an archery lesson and run freely in open spaces. Parents, on the other hand, can join a cooking class or a wine tasting.

Pentecost (Whitsun) and late-May school holidays

Easter holidays in Tuscany

By late May and early June, spring turns into summer. The evenings become warm and long, while the lake glows at sunset.

This is the time of the Pentecost (Whitsun) holidays in many countries, as well as the late-May school break. It’s perfect for a relaxing family stay: slow breakfasts on the terrace, afternoons by the pool with lake views and walks in the cool of the morning.
For those who love hiking, the Sanctuary of La Verna lies in the forest nearby. It’s a day out between spirituality and nature, on the paths once walked by Saint Francis.

In the evening, guests gather outdoors for one of our tasting dinners. Alternatively, they enjoy a quiet meal with our farm-made take-away.

Booking your Easter holidays in Tuscany

Easter and the spring school holidays are among the busiest weeks of the year. During these periods, we offer stays at our standard rates, so we recommend booking early.

Spring in the Arezzo area is just as beautiful in the weeks before and after the holidays. In those weeks, the countryside is even quieter and life moves at an even slower pace. That’s when you’ll find our special offers for 3, 4, 5 and 7 nights, with dinners and experiences already included.

Come and live spring in the countryside. Tell us your dates and who’s travelling with you. We’ll check availability and help you plan your Easter holidays in Tuscany or your spring break on the farm.

What Our Guests Are Saying:

“Our two bedroom, two bathroom apartment was comfortable, clean, spacious and the perfect size for a family of 4. It even includes a full kitchen with fridge.
The location is off the beaten path, super quiet and serene, but still close enough to beautiful small towns like Anghiari and Sansepolcro which have shops and restaurants and lots of must see sights.” – Joseph

“We had a smashing week in March staying in the cosy villa style apartments. When we arrived we were met by her, her wonderful mum, the lovely dogs and cats and a chorus of frogs singing in the lake! The experience is entirely non intrusive with no pushiness or overt touristy feel.  Saying that I had to run a work meeting from my iPad on the excellent wifi!” – Conrad

“The specific advantage is the attitude of the hosts and the opportunity to talk to them. Besides the place is uniquely beautiful, the owners are incredibly hospitable and kind, speak English and are ready to offer a full tourist service with all the details. This is an experience away from the crowds of people, here you are close to the nature and authenticity of Italy. The food is homemade, the products are grown on the farm and everything is incredibly delicious! I am really impressed!” – Kamelia
