Organic agriturismo in Tuscany | Our story at Le Ceregne Bio
Who we are: our story between tradition and innovation
Hello, we are Giada and Elena, two women united by a love for authentic Tuscany, rural life and sustainable hospitality.
Together, we are the beating heart of Le Ceregne Bio, our organic agriturismo in Tuscany. It is an eco-sustainable place, immersed in the beautiful Valtiberina, near Arezzo, overlooking Lake Montedoglio.
I am Giada, a young farmer who inherited from her family not only a farm, but a way of life.
With passion, I transformed this place into an innovative project that brings together tradition and the future: organic farming, solar energy, rainwater collection, digital tools, a vegetable garden, Wi-Fi and free-range chickens.
And I am Elena. I arrived here more than fifteen years ago and immediately fell in love with this place.
I chose to live here, bringing my professional experience in hospitality. Today, Le Ceregne Bio is also my home, a place I helped grow with care, attention and love for people.
Together, we take care of our organic agriturismo in Tuscany.
We believe in genuine, family-style hospitality built on sincere relationships. Our guests are never just customers: they enter our daily life, our stories, and become part of our rural family.
With us, the true heart of Le Ceregne Bio is made of the people who work here every day with passion and dedication.
Thanks also to Francesca and Ilaria, this place comes alive. Every detail is cared for, and every guest feels at home. Their energy, commitment and authenticity make our agriturismo unique.
From our shared dream, our organic agriturismo in Tuscany was born.
A zero-impact agriturismo that, in 2013, won the Oscar Green Toscana and was recognized among Italy’s most innovative realities in sustainable tourism.
Le Ceregne: among cherry trees, history and nature
The name Le Ceregne comes from the Lombard word Ceregnole, meaning cherries.
Cherry cultivation has deep roots in this area of the Valtiberina, going back more than 1,400 years. Today, cherry trees are still present on our land and symbolize the strong bond between our agriturismo and the territory.
Our story begins in 1901, when the Fontana family moved to this farm.
Purchased in 1923, the land has been cultivated with care for over a century, passed down through generations. Today, together with my parents (Giada) Antonella and Luigino, we continue this legacy. We grow olive trees, vines, vegetables and wheat for pasta, and raise poultry and farm animals according to organic farming principles.
Our organic agriturismo in Tuscany is located in an area of great historical significance.
Once inhabited by the Etruscans, and later by the Romans, these lands were used as a crossroads between Arezzo and Rimini. The area is mentioned by Julius Caesar in De Bello Civili, and a stretch of Roman paving is still visible near the property.
Hospitality from the heart: more than a stay, an encounter
At Le Ceregne Bio, every stay is much more than a simple holiday.
It is an encounter between people, stories and cultures. We do not simply offer rooms and apartments in authentic Tuscan style, but open the doors of our home and our hearts. Here, hospitality is made of sincere smiles, familiar gestures and small moments that create real connections.
We love getting to know those who arrive, listening to stories and sharing experiences.
Every guest brings a world with them, and we welcome it with curiosity and gratitude. Often, lasting friendships grow from a simple welcome. Those who return do so because they felt part of something special. Hosting, for us, is a way of traveling while staying rooted, and an opportunity to grow every day as people, as women and as a family.
We look forward to welcoming you to experience a healthy rural life together, shaped by past, present and future.
Welcome to Le Ceregne Bio, your organic agriturismo in Tuscany.
What Our Guests Are Saying:
“Our two bedroom, two bathroom apartment was comfortable, clean, spacious and the perfect size for a family of 4. It even includes a full kitchen with fridge.
The location is off the beaten path, super quiet and serene, but still close enough to beautiful small towns like Anghiari and Sansepolcro which have shops and restaurants and lots of must see sights.” – Joseph
“We had a smashing week in March staying in the cosy villa style apartments. When we arrived we were met by her, her wonderful mum, the lovely dogs and cats and a chorus of frogs singing in the lake! The experience is entirely non intrusive with no pushiness or overt touristy feel. Saying that I had to run a work meeting from my iPad on the excellent wifi!” – Conrad
“The specific advantage is the attitude of the hosts and the opportunity to talk to them. Besides the place is uniquely beautiful, the owners are incredibly hospitable and kind, speak English and are ready to offer a full tourist service with all the details. This is an experience away from the crowds of people, here you are close to the nature and authenticity of Italy. The food is homemade, the products are grown on the farm and everything is incredibly delicious! I am really impressed!” – Kamelia
